The Institute for Global Financial Integrity (TIGFI) is pleased and honoured to announce that Mr. David Wright, Deputy Director of the Internal Market and Services Directorate General will be the Guest Speaker at its seventh monthly lunch on Wednesday, 14th of July 2010 at the Cercle Munster.
Mr. Wright will speak on “The Financial Crisis: Lessons for financial regulation”.
Under the newly nominated Director General of DG Internal Market, Jonathan Faull, Mr. Wright as deputy director has overall responsibility for the directorates concerned with all matters pertaining to the European Union’s financial industry as a whole, namely: Directorate F on FREE MOVEMENT OF CAPITAL, COMPANY LAW AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE, Directorate G on FINANCIAL SERVICES POLICY AND FINANCIAL MARKETS, and Directorate H on FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS.
In providing an informal setting, the purpose of TIGFI’s Luxembourg Monthly Finance Lunch is to address current issues of interest and concern pertaining to the global financial industry and to encourage open and constructive dialogue on such matters among all stakeholders of and to the financial sector. The Institute’s vocation is to promote professional excellence, ethics and integrity. The core principles of integrity that TIGFI seeks to fully establish in finance are fairness, transparency, responsibility and accountability. Its focus is corporate financial governance, financial market integrity and regulatory and investor protections.
